MDG's Coat of Arms - the Process
ONE word that best describes our house:
We didn't decide on this yet. We pondered on "grace" and "leader". Maybe we should go with "grace". But "grace" is a noun. It doesn't describe something. May be "full of grace" but we need one word. Is it "gracious" or "graceful"? Is it "blessed" or "gifted"? The word "grace" is a very rich word. It can mean blessings, sinless state, bliss, "matimtiman", gifts, queenly or princessly gesture or moves. Maybe, we should create a new word. How about "Grace-full".
TWO things the house do well:
1. To serve
2. To lead
(aka servant-leadership. Very appropriate, di ba? Originally, the group thought of "to facilitate" and "to organize". The two words being synonymous, I changed it to "to serve".)
THREE top goals the house wants to achieve (I summed them this way):
- To grow together to be spiritually, psychologically, and emotionally matured.
- To witness to the goodness of God by sharing our inspirational experiences.
- To synergize, i.e. to work together harmoniously in order to achieve a greater effect.
- spiritual growth
- to share knowledge to a wider reach, perhaps, to the world
- to share the fruits/gifts to a common goal
- to multiply (increase membership)
- synergize
FOUR values of the house:
The choices were: trust, accepting, affirming, committed, solid, connected, and guidance. From these choices, I narrowed them to words that sound more like values:
- ONE (connected, united)
- ZEALOUS (committed)
- TRUST
- CARE (accepting, guiding).
I need not expound the meaning of our motto. You can ponder on it "why is to serve is God's grace"?
That's it for now. If you have any comments, just post them below.
May the Grace be with you!
