It was my first visit to Boracay; and first to witness the real ati-atihan in Aklan. My mother has relatives in Aklan. If I remember it right, they were the Fuenteses or Gabriels who lived near the church. Incidentally, my friends and I stayed at the home of a priest which was also near the church. I learned about my relatives in Aklan only when I returned home.

Fr. Ramiro and Fr. Miguel are priests from Guatemala and Spain, respectively. They ministered to me during their stay in the Philippines. I owe them my road to my redemption from a series of sexual abuses.



Some of my friends here are people I met during my journeys with Yuppeace.

In our preparation for our commitment last Wednesday, we asked, do we want intimacy with God? Do you see that such intimacy can be achieved through Yuppeace? Like the stories of my love life and that of my friend, it started with knowing what we want. Actually, the first one is not even a want, it should be a need for each of us. A natural longing to connect with the hand that created us. The second one, that is getting such intimacy through Yuppeace, is an avenue  towards the first.  It is true that intimacy with God can be achieved through a lot of other means. The Pain of Hoping, The Agony of Praying Amidst This Pandemic

Amidst this COVID-19 pandemic, a slice of hope seems so aloof; praying is like an agony that when you hope for a miracle, you wait a long queue behind the prayers of five million people infected worldwide. Perhaps, the distance between heaven and earth is limitless; but with God, nothing is too far. I know that he can hear me. My Prayer Our Father in Heaven, today I pray again. Remember when I asked how important for You that for my sister to receive the Sacraments that she needed?  The next day you sent a priest to our home to give those Sacraments. You heard my prayer. I was overjoyed. Thank you! You sent someone like Fr William who took the risk to visit us. Heavenly Father, you always know what's best for us. Even if sometimes it will cause us pain.
